Gabon: Pharmacies stop dispensing medicines, revealing the exhaustion of state coffers
Gabonese pharmacies are suspending the dispensing of medicines, illustrating the exhaustion of public finances and the repeated economic failures of the Oligui Nguema regime.
The Gabonese Pharmacists' Union has announced the temporary suspension of services for @Cnamgs_ga policyholders in pharmacies, starting January 1, 2025. This decision follows several months of unpaid bills owed by the State. #LunionGA #Gabon pic.twitter.com/LHDXcj3V06

The recent decision by Gabonese pharmacists to suspend the dispensing of medicines due to lack of reimbursement from the State highlights a deep financial crisis that echoes the setbacks recently denounced here. This situation is symptomatic of the exhaustion of public coffers, a direct consequence of the economic failures accumulated under the Oligui Nguema regime that Gabon 2025 has been pointing out for many months.
State coffers running dry: an alarming reality
The suspension of pharmaceutical services reveals a blatant inability of the State to honor its financial commitments. Late payments to pharmacists are only the tip of the iceberg, reflecting poor budget management and the absence of a viable economic strategy. Today, after education, energy and infrastructure, it is health that is suffering from the management of Brice Oligui Nguema and his CTRI, which is constantly transitioning in the wind. The Gabonese people now risk no longer being treated properly because of a resigned State.CNAMGS clearly has other priorities than the health of Gabonese people lol. Imagine if COVID resurfaces or another calamity, life expectancy will clearly drop even more. But you have idiots who come to tell you that health is as important as entertainment pic.twitter.com/xkZJGvGAtp

Oligui Nguema: a succession of economic failures
Since coming to power, Oligui Nguema has accumulated economic underperformance. After the late payments for civil servants, many of whom are still waiting for their dues, after the power cuts and the corruption scandal at SEEG, after the various oil scandals and while the infrastructure continues to deteriorate, it is now the health of citizens that is impacted by the disastrous management of the President of the Transition. Promises of recovery and prosperity quickly came up against the reality of a declining economy, marked by ineffective policies and endemic corruption. The initiatives announced with great fanfare have turned out to be resounding failures, worsening the financial situation of the country, which is now in a worse state than under the Bongo era.
An agony that comes after months of warnings
The Gabon 2025 collective had, from the beginning, warned of the potential excesses of the Oligui Nguema regime. The warnings, unfortunately ignored, are now materializing in an unprecedented economic and social crisis. The suspension of the delivery of medicines is just one example among many of the disastrous consequences of failing governance. The Gabonese state owes the pharmacies but it gave 10 million to the rare bird for an insane concert

CNAMGS is a matter of life or death @BriceOLINguema @EssanguiOna @gabon_2025 @gabonmediatime @Lukeni241 @Mpagm2014 @oliguinguema @ZitaOligui 🇬🇦😫😔📂
The current situation confirms the IMF's forecasts and the concerns of Gabon 2025: the economic failures of the regime in place are leading the country towards an impasse, to the detriment of the Gabonese population.
Country affairs #Gabon | pharmacists no longer deliver medicines due to lack of reimbursements. The CNAMGS is said to have accumulated too high a debt to pharmacies.
